Enhanced CAA Permissions
Nationwide Drones has shown the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) that it can safely operate drones in closer proximity to the public than typical regulations allow, thanks to comprehensive safety measures and an exemplary safety record.
The Operational Safety Case (OSC) is a special authorization from the CAA that enables certain drone operators to perform activities beyond the standard licensing limitations. Nationwide Drones has successfully demonstrated its capability to operate drones safely in closer quarters to both individuals and property.
Generally, commercial drone operators are required to maintain a minimum distance of 50 meters from uninvolved persons and structures, with the exception of take-off and landing, which can be as close as 30 meters. This restriction effectively limits operations in densely populated areas for those under a standard General Visual Flight Rules (GVC) license.
Standard Permissions Vs Our Permissions

With our OSC, we can reduce these distances to just 10 meters, and even 5 meters during take-off and landing, allowing us to conduct operations in urban environments like London, Birmingham, and Manchester while adhering to legal requirements.
Our commitment to rigorous training, strict adherence to protocols, and a strong safety framework enables us to conduct our drone flights safely without risking public safety.
Reduce distances
DJI Matrice 300/350 & Matrice M30/M30T

- 20m in flight Horizontal distance
DJI Mavic 3 (all the range, Including Thermal and enterprise)

- 10m in flight Horizontal distance
(There will be no planned overflight of uninvolved people, however where there is an immediate need to overfly an uninvolved person this will be kept to an absolute minimum and the 1:1 rule will be applied.)
